On My Radar: Celosia Flower Farm

Celosia Flower Farm Cebu
You've probably seen some posts of a flower farm flooding your facebook and instagram feed. So where is this picturesque flower field everyone's talking about? In Tuscany? Netherlands? France? Nah! It's in Brgy.Sirao, Cebu. I've been living in Cebu half of my life, but I didn't know a place like this even exist in the highlands. It's a very quiet place away from the urban hustle bustle.

Once In A Blue Moon Team Building

Cebu Westown Lagoon
You think Mondays are worse? try working weekends, holidays and 11-hour shift. You wouldn't even care what day of the week it is, trust me. But whether you care or you don't, work is work and it demands struggle.

The team that I am in works as after office hours support, literally working after regular office hours and 7 days a week. Yes, you read it right! We rarely see each other as a team since we have different work schedules but we always make sure to organize a team building at least quarterly to catch up, bond with one another and ease conflicts if there's any. So after ages of deciding where to go, the team finally agreed to spend a day at  Cebu Westown Lagoon which was just situated in between Mandaue City and Cebu City.

Photos were taken from my Gopro Hero 4 but unfortunately, I didn't get lots of decent shots and most of the photos were either blurred or has water drops or spots on the lens. I'm not a camera geek type of person and apparently, I need to spend more time reading and understanding this camera.

Isn't it nice to have a bar in the swimming pool? You might not see it clearly, but that's a bar right there behind with chairs underwater.

We started preparing our food as soon as we arrived then spent the rest of the day swimming, eating and playing. Shout out to our very supportive service manager, Ina Marie who's playing the photographer.

Team After Hours AKA Hybrid Team AKA The Scavengers

We pretty much enjoyed this once in a blue moon team building, did the same thing we did in the morning over and over again. We ate, swam, play and repeat. I couldn't even remember how many times I've climbed and slide down the yellow slide, it was really fun except the part where I've unconsciously used my elbow as a brake because I was still scared to go down alone and ended up getting a small wound haha

Westown is definitely a good place to spend over the weekend if you're too lazy to drive out of town since it's just within the city (just beside MO2 for those who don't know where it is). Just a heads up, the other side of Westown is like a warehouse of some sort, the sound of the cargo containers being lifted is a bit annoying unless you wouldn't mind hearing the thunderstorm like noise the entire day. I would still definitely come back though, it's not really a big deal.

Stay strong After Hours! :)

Review: iWhite Korea Aqua Moisturizer

Review: iWhite Korea Aqua Moisturizer

I mostly write about my travel experiences or about the events that I had attended but this time, I'm going to write a review about one of my favorite moisturizing products from iWhite Korea.

iWhite Korea Aqua Moisturizer Whitening Vita. I've been using this product for a year now and I'm telling you, I wouldn't last a day without this even at times when I'm struggling with breakouts. What I do like best about this product is that it's non-greasy in any way since it's water-based plus it doesn't have that strong scent too which is just perfect for me cos I'm one of those people with fragrance sensitivity

There's just one thing that I'm concerned about, on the packaging it says Aqua Moisturizer Whitening Vita, however, it doesn't give any details about it on the whitening part.

iWhite Korea Aqua Moisturizer
Its consistency is very different from other moisturizers, it's like jelly and a cream in one. It's very lightweight and absorbed faster by the skin.

Review: iWhite Korea Aqua Moisturizer
Water will slowly come out after you rub it in your skin. Yes, water!

  • Water-based
  • Non-greasy
  • Deeply hydrates
  • Smells good, not too strong
  • Reduces chances of breakouts since it's water-based, it's less likely to stick inside the pores.
  • Can put my make-up on shortly after applying my moisturizer, I don't have to wait for my skin to absorb it, unlike the oil-based ones.

  • I can't really think of any disadvantages of this product, I like it!

As I've said, I've been using it for a year now and I'm really happy with how it keeps my skin hydrated. iWhite has several products available aside from Aqua Moisturizer Whitening Vita such as skin-clearing facial mask, dirt-removing nose pack, revitalizing and soothing moisturizer, a facial cream with sunscreen, and whitening body soap which are all available in the Philippines. The 50ml tube retail for 179 pesos and also comes in a sachet. Available at Watsons, SM Department Stores, Mercury Drug, Rose Pharmacy and think I saw it at 7 Eleven too.

Have you tried using iWhite Aqua Moisturizer too? Do you prefer oil-based or water-based moisturizer?

Color Manila Run 2015: Cebu

color run manila cebu
I've been meaning to join a fun run but my cousin Jay (my partner in crime), already left to live her life and follow her dreams. Nobody wouldn't want to join her first fun run alone, right? Yes, it's my first time and I had attempted several times to drag my friends on this but only 1 of my office mates joined me. Ironic, uh! :(

I came across Color Manila's facebook post and just checked their website out of curiosity. I thought this is only happening in Manila but found out they have also organized runs in Bacolod, Davao Dagupan and Cebu. Color Run is actually on almost every single continent on earth and is an all ages event, for different shapes, sizes and fitness level. To register, all you have to do is to visit their website and choose the category you want. You have the option to pay using a credit card, a debit or a prepaid Color Manila card which is bought in their partner establishments.

They scheduled days on where you could claim your race kit. I love the foldable CM sunglasses that comes with the kit, it comes in diffident bright colors and it's really cute. This year, Color Manila collaborated with Brother Philippines which gave out a bunch of freebies during the event. I was so stoked even before the event started, I missed the feeling of being on the field since I used to organize corporate events. Run venue is at South Road Properties (SRP) which I think is a perfect place for events and runs, Only private vehicles pass through SRP, it won't cause traffic and delays to motorists.

I did walk at some point. Told Mama Bien I'll catch up, but I never did. He was already on his way back, but I still haven't reached the turning point haha I regretted signing up for the 10K category. We originally want to sign up for the 6K run but they only had limited slots for that category and was already closed when we registered. Should've stick to 3K category, I ended up torturing myself on my first fun run. But hey, I survived after 2 hours of alternate running-walking! (Patting myself on the back hehe) .

Based on my experience, you need to consider few things before joining Color Run or fun runs especially to people who don't normally run or to beginners like me. Regardless of what fitness level you are in, make sure to warm up properly which I didn't do (Oops!) since I came straight to the venue all the way from work and the race was about to start when we got there. My first fun run was a bit of a disaster - no proper warm up and started out too fast. I ended up slowing down and burning out before I could even reach the finish line. The worst part is that I ended the run feeling exhausted and the next day I couldn't move a muscle, my legs are sore and my knees felt like spaghetti noodles.

The video's a bit shaky, sorry. I couldn't help but dance and jump hahaha And oh, I just learned how to edit a video so forgive me for the quality. This was taken from my Gopro Hero 4, I'm still figuring out how to tweak and improve the quality of the videos.

We walked, ran and danced while throwing the color powder. I did not get the impression though that this was one where I should strive to get a personal record as I'm not really a regular runner, as long as I'm having fun I'm all good. I'd like to join again with my friends the next time around, it'll be really fun laughing and throwing color powder at each other plus you'll get to meet new people too.

At the end of the party, Color Run announced they'll be back in Cebu on September for Color manila Nite Run. They said Cebu has the highest number of attendees out of all the Color Run Legs in the Philippines. Yay! Can't wait fro September for another epic party! Check out their website for updates.

Have you ever joined Color Run before? Did you had a blast?

Camiguin Island

mantigue island camiguin philippines

Summer wouldn't be complete without a day at the beach. It's one of the most awaited time of the year for the beach bums. Let me share one of the craziest, buwis-buhay adventure I had this summer with my YOLO friends. My friend Ryan, who was bitten by the travel bug and who's only just discovering travel told me he's heading to Camiguin Island alone. I really wanted to go after seeing some of our friend's photos who just visited the island however my work schedule is stopping me from going.
